Ontario Creates Programs

Ontario Creates, formerly Ontario Media Development Corporation (OMDC), is an agency of the Ontario Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Sport. Ontario Creates administers a wide range of subsidies and tax incentives aimed at supporting Ontario cultural media cluster which includes book publishing, film and television, interactive digital media, magazine publishing and music industries.

In addition to tax credits such as OIDMTC, Ontario Creates offers a number of other tax credits and grants. Some of the programs are offered on the ongoing basis, and some are offered a pilot projects which sometimes become permanent and sometimes discontinued after one or two rounds of funding.

MCN has extensive experience working with Ontario Creates and the programs it administers. We particularly focus on OIDMTC, IDMF, Ontario Creates Export Fund and other programs aimed at supporting Ontario digital media and game development industries. The programs offered through Ontario Creates are complementary to SR&ED, IRAP and other funding opportunities.

MCN consulting engagements normally cover the entire array of funding opportunities so that the overall return from the entire portfolio of programs and incentives is maximized.
