As the SR&ED Technical Consultant – Computer Science/Engineering, you will consult a variety of MCN corporate clients working in software development, IT, bioinformatics, cybersecurity, wireless networks, artificial intelligence, robotics, IoT and related fields. You will help our clients identify SR&ED-eligible activities and structure SR&ED projects, and will be responsible for preparing technical reports describing these projects. You will be working in a team led by a Project Manager and will coordinate your work with other team members. We are looking for a professional person capable of working independently and handling multiple projects with firm deadlines.

Responsibilities
- Assume full responsibility for all technology- and R&D-related aspects of MCN's consulting engagements
- Liaise with executives and technical personnel of our corporate clients, review their R&D and other activities and establish which projects qualify for SR&ED tax credits
- Write technical reports for inclusion with the clients' SR&ED claims, outlining eligible technological challenges and qualifying activities
- Analyze clients' operations, business processes and software/product development methodologies and help clients optimize them to ensure compliance with reporting requirements of the SR&ED program as well as to maximize the clients' returns from participating in the program
- Consult and support clients on an ongoing basis, manage clients expectations and adhere to strict deadlines
- Prepare and write other documentation of technical nature as may be required by the terms of our client engagements
- Maintain an up-to-date understanding of the SR&ED program, technological landscape and industry trends
Qualifications
- University degree in Computer Science, Software/Computer/Electrical Engineering, Computational Mathematics/Science, or a related field.
- At least two years of professional experience in Software Development, IT or a related field
- Prior experience with the SR&ED program in the Software/IT/Electronics or related fields
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills (in-person and over the phone) and the ability to correspond effectively with executive and technical staff at various companies, from start-ups to public corporations
- Superb time management skills
- High level of professionalism and personal integrity
- Ability to work independently and simultaneously handle multiple projects with firm deadlines
- Masters or a Ph.D. degree is an asset
- Familiarity with federal grantprograms is desirable but not mandatory
Compensation
This is a full-time engagement. Starting base salary between $70,000 and $90,000 per year, commensurate with experience. Additional performance-based compensation component.
